Star City Motor Madness

This is the time of year that I always make sure I'm in town for and am so fortunate to live here.
This is the 7th year of Star City Motor Madness and it just keeps getting bigger and better. We had a little rain this afternoon, but it's time to head out and cruise now and I can see the sun.

Next week will be more fun with Music for Americans that has also become an annual event for us.

Duct Length in AutoCAD MEP

Many fabricators want to show duct in specific lengths when using AutoCAD MEP. This can be accomplished in a couple of different ways.

First, you can set this preference so that all duct is broken into these preset lengths.

From your HVAC pulldown menu, choose Duct>Preferences. In the middle right side of the Routing tab you will see Duct Length. You can make the length any number you need. When the box is checked, duct will be shown in those lengths.

Keep in mind that if you are using duct labeling, every duct segment will be labeled as well.

You can also right click on any piece of duct and chose Duct Length.

You can apply the duct length to selected objects or a duct run.

Once you break the duct into lengths, you can always take away the segments by right clicking on one duct segment and choosing Merge in the Duct Length dialog box.

Help in AutoCAD MEP

From the Help pulldown menu, choose Learning Resources and you will be presented with this nicely laid out menu of topics. Some are related to the help file system. Some are links to discussion groups. Some are movies. This is one of the better resources I've seen associated with program help from Autodesk.
